US Socialist Example No. 23: Congress

With a lot of heated discussions going on about socialism, it seems pertinent to bring up the fact that every single congressperson is part of the socialist fabric of our nation.

Socialism is merely an economic system wherein government controls the production and distribution of goods – which doesn’t work out that well.  However, government control and production of services works out quite well.   Our property and income taxes find their way into a common account, government uses the monies to provide the service of national defense, first responders, and policy making to the general public.

In the case of our Congress, each member is paid over $170k per year from the national treasury, loaded with taxes from you and I, to provide the service of legislating economic, democratic, and social policy for our nation.  This scenario makes the US Congress a wholly socialist entity.   So the next time you hear any one of them complain about socialism in America, send them a letter, let them know that they participate in the very thing they claim to abhor.
